These pictures are from Paul Strauser's collection of the 761ST MEDICAL DETACHMENT at GERZEWSKI BARRACKS in the 1960s. The Swastika picture was taken in 1963 by Dr. Don Morton who was the company commander. The other pictures are from 1968. Some were taken by Eddie Overstreet. He is the one who is kneeling in the snow.
Notice that in one of the helicopter pictures the buildings that would become the barracks for HQ Company 79th is a blue color. Were they being renovated? If anybody knows, send me a e-mail.
The picture below is Norman Snowden of the 79th. It was taken in the 1960s, but not at Gerszewski. It was taken at Pirmasens. The 79th went to Gerszewski in June 1971. I put it here because it shows a IG Inspection in the 1960s.
